About New Independent Directors...
New Independent was started in 2006 by Martin Kendall, the founder and Managing Director. In providing services to clients, he can call on his forty years of experience, half in industry and half in consultancy. By way of background, he spent many years in large corporate multinationals, including GlaxoSmithKline and Rank Group, where he held senior marketing and general management roles.
Before founding New Independent, Martin worked as a consultant in executive search and was responsible for numerous board appointments in large quoted groups and private equity backed companies – Chairmen, Chief Executives and Non Executive Directors.
He was a contributor to the Higgs Report, is a supporter of diversity in the boardroom and encourages the widening of the pool of non executive directors. Additionally, he published the findings of a research project carried out in 2004 which set out to establish how large companies were approaching the issue of Board Effectiveness.
New Independent also has the support and guidance of an Advisory Board.
